The Council for Technology and Technical Education (CTEVT) started at the level of the Certificate (PCL) certification in the nursing program in 1999 AD (2056 BS). However, to provide direct and horizontal access for PCL nursing graduates, with the kind permission of Tribhuvan University (TU), Institute of Medicine (IOM), CTEVT has begun implementing the TU, IOM curriculum for PCL nurses. With the changing health needs and health policy of the Nepalese government, CTEVT took steps to respond to these needs; as a result, CTEVT launched the PCL nursing curriculum in 2013. PCL nursing is one of the most prominent and popular courses in the field of Nursing. Nursing has been a global phenomenon in the development of universal health care and has created job opportunities and self-employment in the public and private sectors. This curriculum is designed to produce a mid-level nursing staff equipped with knowledge and skills related to the nursing profession to meet the need for such staff in the country to contribute to Nepal's national economic development. The knowledge and skills incorporated in this curriculum will help to meet individual and national needs in the field of the Nursing Profession.

The government of Nepal has adopted a national policy for obtaining a "Health for All Beyond the Year 2000 A.D." through the primary health care system. As a result, CTEVT has been authorized to produce medium-sized staff through CTEVT and CTEVT-related institutions.

During the process of curriculum development, the Government of Nepal has supported the concept of gerontology care, because qualified PCL nurses are outstanding service providers; The Department of Health has proposed the inclusion of these new emerging health problems in the curriculum. Similarly, the theory of psychiatrists and clinical hours has expanded, similarly, with the addition of a new study called Basic Science Applied to Nursing which contains Biochemistry (Microbiology, Parasitology & Virology) and Pharmacology. Other aspects of oncology nursing have also been added to the curriculum. The course is run both doctrinal and practical
times.

This course is based on the needs of the staff Nursing staff at the various levels of the health care system in Nepal. Therefore, this curriculum is designed to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes among students to practice professionalism. A total of three years; the first-year study focuses on basic hospital and community nursing care: basic nursing practices; the second year course focuses on nursing care, advocacy, and treatment of sick and elderly adults and people with mental illness. Similarly, the third-year study included children, obstetrics, and gynecology as well as leadership and management.

Objectives:

The program aims to produce self-employed middle-class staff with the ability to take on the task of protecting, primary, therapeutic, rehabilitation, and full-time personal / group care in a hospital and community center.

IMPORTANT FEATURES:

1. Time:

The full duration of this curriculum is three years of study. The plan is based on an annual plan. In addition, one academic year has 40 weeks and one academic week has 40 hours without examination time.


2. Group size: 

The group size will be more than 40 (forty) students on the bench.

3. Moderate Teaching: 

Learning style will be in English / Nepali or both.


4. Attendance pattern: 

A minimum of 90% attendance in each subject is required to appear in the final examination.

5. Pass marks:

 Students must ensure a minimum of 40% marks in the nomination sense and 50% marks in practice. In addition, learners must ensure low pass marks in the internal assessment and final assessment of each subject in order to pass the subject.

6. Background paper provision: 

There will be a background paper offer but the student must pass all the subjects for the whole semester within six years from the date of registration; however, there should be a provision for the assessment of opportunities for final semester students in accordance with CTEVT rules.


7. Certificate and level awards:

Students who pass all parts of all three-year courses are considered successful graduates.
Students who successfully complete these courses will be awarded the "Proficiency Certificate Level in nursing".

Login Terms:

1. School Leaving Certificate (SLC) in category 2 (45%) in English, Science, and Mathematics or BONA with GPA 2.0 and a C with a low C in Compulsory Mathematics, English & Science.
2. SEE passed with TSLC in Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) with a minimum of 68.33%.
3. You must pass an entrance test as regulated by CTEVT.
4. Applicants who complete the entry process will be selected for eligibility


RECEPTIONAL  ANSWERS:

 Admission:

The three-hour entrance exam will be held in one complete paper (50 marks each in English, Maths, and Science). Questions will have many options. Applicants must pass an entry test and the selection will be based on a list of eligibility for a refund.

JOB RIGHTS:

  • Graduates will qualify for a position equivalent to a Non-gazetted 1st class (technical) degree as a Nursing Nurse or as determined by the Nepal Public Service Commission. The degree will be able to register/take the examination with the relevant Council in the grade as provided in the relevant Council Act (if any).
  • Graduates are eligible to attend a Bachelor of Nursing or similar Course in terms of university law.
